Credentials required The applicant should have Completion of the Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Examination, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate, First Aid Certificate.

Work Setting Home care or visiting care agency, Home for the aged, Nursing or convalescent home

Area of Specialization Geriatrics

Registered Nursing Assistant Specific Skills Take patients’ blood pressure, temperature and pulse, Distribute medication to patients, Change patients’ dressings, Bathe and dress patients, Assist registered nurses with various medical procedures

Additional Skills Monitor patients’ progress and report any changes

Security and Safety Criminal record check, Immunization records

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities Fast-paced environment, Work under pressure, Repetitive tasks, Physically demanding, Attention to detail, Standing for extended periods

Transportation/Travel Information Valid driver’s licence, Own transportation, Own vehicle
