(residential Worker)

to start as soon as possible


Terms This is a permanent, part time job, which reqires working nights and weekends.

Salary will be $13.78 per hour for a 16 hour week.

Education The applicant should have completed high school.

Experience is an asset.

Credentials required The applicant should have Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) Certificate, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate, First Aid Certificate.

Work Setting Women’s shelter, Hospital or clinic, Social service agency, Shelter for the homeless

Target Groups or Clients Male, Female, Seniors, Aboriginal groups, Culturally diverse groups, Street population, Persons with intellectual disabilities, Persons with physical disabilities, Persons with mental health disabilities, Persons with learning disabilities

Type of Community or Social Service Personal and social adjustment and health (substance abuse, gambling, behaviour disorders), Socio-economic needs or conditions (housing, nutrition, unemployment, financial assistance), Services for the homeless

Specific Skills Obtain information and prepare reports or case histories, Appraise clients’ needs or eligibility for specific services, Maintain program statistics for purposes of evaluation and research
