Credentials required The applicant should have Small Equipment Mechanic Trade Certification. Type of Equipment Garden tractors, Outboard motors, Gasoline-powered equipment, Lawn mowers Specific Skills Inspect and test engines and motors to diagnose and isolate faults, Adjust, repair or replace parts using hand tools and equipment, Test and adjust repaired equipment for proper performance, Perform scheduled maintenance service on equipment Additional Skills Estimate repair costs Security and Safety Criminal record check Own Tools/Equipment Tools, Steel-toed safety boots Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities Manual dexterity, Attention to detail, Hand-eye co-ordination, Bending, crouching, kneeling Work Location Information In shop Essential Skills Reading text, Document use, Numeracy, Writing, Oral communication, Working with others, Problem solving, Critical thinking, Job task planning and organizing, Finding information, Continuous learning Other Information Knowledge of construction equipment & small engine parts lookup a definite asset.
