Barber Glass Industries Inc.has 3 positions for a Glass worker - glass products manufacturingin Terms This is a permanent, full time job, which reqires working days. Shift work is involved. Salary will be negotiated and depends on the skills and experience of the applicant. Education The applicant should have completed high school. Experience one or two years experience. Specific Skills Heat, anneal, temper or form float glass or glass products, Coat glass with silver or other metals and materials, Ensure correct operation of machines and verify specified processing conditions and make adjustments, Operate process control machinery to cut glass or assemble glass window units, Set up or adjust automatic glass feeding, flowing and forming machines, Weigh, measure and check production samples to assess conformance to specifications, Set up and adjust glass and glass product finishing machines, Operate finishing machines to grind, drill, sand, bevel, decorate, wash or polish glass or glass products, Visually inspect products for quality Additional Skills Maintain shift log of production and other data, Record manufacturing information such as quantity, size and type of goods produced Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities Repetitive tasks, Manual dexterity, Attention to detail, Hand-eye co-ordination, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Standing for extended periods Own Tools/Equipment Steel-toed safety boots Work Site Environment Noisy, Hot Transportation/Travel Information Own transportation Essential Skills Reading text, Document use, Numeracy, Writing, Oral communication, Working with others, Problem solving, Decision making, Critical thinking, Job task planning and organizing, Significant use of memory, Computer use, Continuous learning Other Information We will only consider applicants who have 2-3 years minimum glass manufacturing experience in cutting,Insulated glass, laminating, tempering, KSR and coating.
