Terms This is a casual, full time job, which reqires working evenings and weekends. Shift work is involved.

Salary will be $12.00 to $15.00 per hour for a 25 hour week.

Education The applicant should have some college.

Experience is an asset.

Credentials required The applicant should have Child and Youth Care Worker (CCW/CYW) Diploma, Social Service Worker (SSW) Diploma, Community Support Worker (CSW) Diploma, Human Services Diploma, Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) Certificate, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate, First Aid Certificate.

Work Setting Private home

Target Groups or Clients Male, Female, Children, Adolescents, Aboriginal groups, Culturally diverse groups, Persons with intellectual disabilities, Persons with mental health disabilities, Persons with Acquired Brain Injury (ABI), Persons with learning disabilities

Type of Community or Social Service Child welfare, Personal and social adjustment and health (substance abuse, gambling, behaviour disorders)

Specific Skills Implement life skills workshops, Assess client’s relevant skill strengths and development needs, Provide suicide and crisis intervention, Resolve conflict situations, Implement substance abuse treatment programs, Implement behaviour management programs, Provide personal services support to persons with special needs, Liaise with other social services agencies and health care providers involved with clients

Transportation/Travel Information Own transportation, Own vehicle, Willing to travel regularly, Valid driver’s licence, Public transportation is not available

Other Information Clinical support Workers will provide support to Youth placed into foster homes in the community. Work hours will normally consist of evenings and weekends. Travel to Northumberland & Peterborough.
