The Ontario SPCAis looking for Animal attendant(animal Care Attendant Level 1) Terms This is a permanent, part time job, which reqires working days, evenings, and weekends. Salary will be negotiated and depends on the skills and experience of the applicant. Education The applicant should have some high school. Experience is an asset. Work Setting Animal shelter, Kennel Pet Grooming Experience Bathing/shampooing, Flea baths Animal Care Experience Domestic animals/pets (cats, kittens, puppies, dogs, etc.), Hamsters, guinea pigs, gerbils, etc. Specific Animal Care Skills Prepare food and feed animals, Clean and disinfect cages, pens, aquariums, kennels, runs, stall and enclosures, Monitor and document animal behaviour Weight Handling Up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs) Additional Skills Keep records of animals treated Essential Skills Reading text, Writing, Oral communication, Working with others, Problem solving, Decision making, Critical thinking, Job task planning and organizing, Significant use of memory, Finding information, Computer use Other Information Must have reliable transportation.
